So, after grabbing brunch we headed back to our house and loaded up the car with camping gear, some food, our pup, and Joel’s guitar.

And the adventure began with a ferry ride.

Due to the fact that we did not plan ahead of time, once we arrived in the Olympic Mountains the sun was setting. So, we drove up for a sneak peak and then headed to set up camp.  We figured we had the whole next day to enjoy the scenery.

After saying goodbye to the mountains we headed to Port Angeles to see the sunset over the water.  Absolutely beautiful and beyond peaceful!

Also, I got to play with wine bottles, which I have always enjoyed photographing.

I wanted to quickly share a post about the most current issue of Seattle Magazine, showcasing several of my images.  I am so honored to be working for this magazine and appreciate all the opportunities that have been coming my way.  The people I have been meeting, neighborhoods I am discovering, and food that I am trying have been just some of the amazing perks of the job.

After taking a few months of adjusting and realizing that I may not be sure about what this city has to offer me – I then noticed a position at Seattle Magazine.

So, for the past few months I have been learning the works of the ‘magazine world’ and taking on photo assignments, meeting deadlines, and seeing my name published in an amazing magazine, in my new city!  I cant be more excited about this opportunity and I am unsure where this intern will leave me, but I am enjoying the process.

So, last Saturday we decided to take a drive to Mt. Baker for the day and caught ourselves in a ‘snow globe’.  Such unexpected weather- but it was absolutely beautiful!

It was a short trip but incredibly magical. I love snow!

I wish I could stay in this spot forever….

So, Marcella and I loaded up the car while Matt and Max finished watching the  soccer game in preparation to get there a few hours before dinner time.  We were so excited about just getting to camp and eating. Ha!  Classic me!

So, mid/late day we hopped in the car with the essentials and drove to Washington’s first state Park, Larrabee State Park.  It was the first time for all of us to discover this place, so that made it even more exciting!   It is awesome to be with people that really appreciate the outdoors like I do.  As we started to all run down the trail with excitement to get to the water. After soaking up the wonderful sun and sound of the water we walked back to the campsite and made some killer tuna melts and then headed back to catch the sunset.  And let me tell you, it was such a close call. It was meant to be!  We took a different path to get there, ran down one of the hills, and climbed up to the rock to just catch the sun setting in the distance! It was the absolute perfect timing…couldn’t of planned it any better even if we tried.

My favorite part about camping is sitting around the campfire and eating way too many marshmallows and looking up at the stars.  And last night night was no exception to these two things happening.  It really turned into a lovely night!

After eating a rad breakfast and packing up the campsite we had to say goodbye to the wonderful views until next time…

It is always an honor to be a part of a destination wedding.  The closeness you have with the guests of the wedding make you feel like you are a part of the family…and Mike and Nicole especially reached out to make us feel like we were apart of the group!After a day of travel and a little rest time to enjoy the resort at Dreams in Punta Cana we got ready for an exciting night ahead of us on a sunset boat ride to begin the celebration of these two wonderful people!  So much joy and happiness was in the air!

Then it was the big day.  

One of my favorite parts on a wedding day is when the groom and bride choose to do a ‘first look’!  The emotions and anticipation that builds before that very moment that you see your future Husband or Wife is so special, and getting to capture is is just as lovely.
